The "Silver Arrow"

This German look 67 is owned by Patrick Gomez. It sports 18" Porsche turbo twist wheels and four wheel disks. Up front a 4" narrowed beam is needed just to tuck the wheels under the fenders. Power windows, custom seats, carbon fiber door panels and an aluminum dash is what you will find inside this ride. Often sporting a 2.7 liter engine this car is built for the highway. It's type 4 powered and also sports carbon fiber touches in the engine compartment. It under goes changes every now and then in the engine configuration because owner Pat is a true engine guy and uses this car as kind of a test bed for his type 4's.

Cristen's Rat 59

This rat 59 belongs to member Cristen Bristol. She is a hardcore VW chick. She and her husband Dan drug this semi Baha 59 out of the northeast last year. Someone had cut all the fenders short. Cristen and Dan matched another set of fenders to the car nearly perfectly. It is mostly stock and even runs the OG 36horse. Dumped on BRMs this car is the true meaning of a rat ride.

The "Virgin" redux

The "Virgin" is currently the newest car in the Wide5 fleet. Finished Feb 09 she is going to be in a recent edition of Ultra VW magazine. This car was truly a group effort. Texas brown with chrome BRMs and a 2 liter engine make this ride a looker and performer. Four wheel disks and a 6" narrowed beam add to the car a look and feel that makes her fun to drive. The interior was done by Lenny Cop from out west and is spectacular. The engine was built by Mr Clean in West Palm beach and has proven to be a screamer. Now Mike just needs to drive her and enjoy the fruits of his and many Wide 5ers labor. Special thanks go out to Kevin at KCW and Yaril from Yaril's garage for the final push. Check out the build in our projects section.

Empiflake's 62

Mike Hedrick has been a wide 5 member from the start. His 62 has been his pride and joy for quite some time now. A German model 62 this car was stored away for many years and even was used by Disney for some theme park parades. It still boasts original interior and original motor. In fact it just recently had the original clutch and pressure plate changed along with the carbon throw out bearing. We don't think the motor was ever taken out before last year. It is original paint and drives like a new beetle. Dawning many rare and ultra rare accessories Mike has lived up to his nickname "empiflake".

Jason's square

Jason has owned this 67 squareback for several years now. It was always a clean car and was mildly customised with 5 spokes and a slightly custom plaid interior. It is a solid and reliable cruiser. Jason plans to keep it in it's mostly original state with keeping some cool custom touches here and there.

The 67

Owner Bill Dwyer has owned this 67 Westy since 03. It has gone through several changes and is always a work in progress. Driven to almost all shows, it's well used and just getting broken in. A 1776cc engine with a straight axle conversion powers it. Bill used Wagons West offset spring plates in the rear and a CB 2" narrowed beam cut to 4" up front. Currently on BRMs Bill has plans to make some changes in the near future.
